2024 PRYAA Annual Meeting and Elections

Sunday, November 3th, 2024

 

 

PRYAA families,

 

This will serve as the announcement that the PRYAA Annual Meeting and Elections are set for Sunday, November 3th, 2024 at Peachtree Ridge High School Media Center at 4PM.

 

We would like to let you know about the voting process for the meeting. When you arrive at the meeting location, you will check in to receive your ballot. Ballots will only go to attending parents. If mom and dad are there, they will each receive a ballot. If only dad is there, he will NOT also get mom’s ballot. Kids will not receive ballots under any circumstances. You must be present to vote. The meeting will then be called to order by Trey Cail, Executive Board President, who will review any current business. We will then move on to elections.

*** As an additional incentive, the PRYAA Board has authorized that any newly elected board members will receive 50% off registration fees, limited to 1 child & 1 registration discount. ***

 

First, we will ask for any nominations from the floor for the open positions who do not have anyone currently running.  Each contested position nominee will then have a 2-minute opportunity to give a brief background/qualifications speech. Once that is complete, it is time to vote. If there are any write-in nominations from the floor, you will do so at that time (we will have them listed on a white board for your convenience). Please be sure to bring a pen with you due to current situation we will not be providing them. Once you have filled out your ballot, volunteers will collect them. No ballots will be collected until after the voting has started. Once everyone has voted, we will have a double count and can then announce our newly elected board members. We do want to ask everyone to try to stay in case we need to have any runoffs. Run offs may be necessary if any one position has 3 or more candidates.
