FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS)

  • What is the total cost to cheer with PRYAA?

The total cost to cheer for the 2024 Fall Season is $690. This total includes registration, uniform/camp wear and other required fees.

  • Why does it cost as much as it does?

Yes, cheerleading everywhere is a fairly costly sport. This year for all participants is a little more costly than the last 3 years. We typically wear a uniform for 2 years however, with the pandemic occurring we wore our last uniform for a total of 3 years. It was also an inexpensive uniform to help cut cost as it was the year when the pandemic hit. We have since gone back to a traditional cheer uniform which does cost a bit more.  Just as everything else in new world, prices of everything have risen.

  • What forms are needed to cheer?

2024 GFL Physical Form is THE MOST IMPORTANT; the actual physical examination must take place in 2024 and the form must be signed in 2024. We will need the original copy of the physical form (wet ink).  Please make and keep a copy for yourself. All other forms listed on OUR website should be printed and brought with you to Meet the Board/Coaches Day.  Date TBA.

  • What are we supposed to do with the forms once completed?

Hold on to forms including original (wet ink) 2024 physical form to bring to Meet the Board/Coaches Day.

  • What is National Sports ID? Do we have to use it?

National Sports ID (NSID) is a vendor site chosen by the Gwinnett Football League (GFL) our governing body that is utilized to verify that a participant is how old and in what grade that you say they are. On this site you will upload your cheerleaders birth certificate and required school document to be verified. Your cheerleader CANNOT participate in any activities once the season starts, without being verified. Yes, we are required to utilize this site. There is a $10 fee that is assessed, this is NOT included in your registration and must be paid directly to NSID. If you have an 8th grade cheerleader, DO NOT use the AutoDraft feature as you will be charged around this time next year, and your cheerleader will  not be a participant.

  • When do we start cheerleading?

Our season officially begins with cheer camp at TBA. On Monday July 29th.

  • What days are practice?

Practice can be chosen by your cheerleaders coach, NO REGULAR PRACTICE WILL BE HELD on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays. Only in special circumstances may that occur, and special permission must be obtained to do so. In the past few seasons, practice has been held on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 6pm-7:30pm. Grades 1st-7th may only practice for 1.5hrs. Grade 8 may practice for 2hrs.

  • Is there going to be a parent meeting in the near future?

Yes, we will have a Meet the Board/Coach Day mid July before camp begins.

  • Will I be able to meet my daughters coach?

Yes, we plan to have all coaches in attendance at Meet the Board/Coach Day. Date TBA.

  • When are the games? And who are we cheering for?

The football games in which your cheerleader will be cheering for are held every Saturday starting Saturday August 10th and the last regular season game is Saturday October 12th. They begin at 9am with the youngest participants (for example your cheerleader is in the 2nd grade the team she cheers for is classified as the 7 and 8 yr old team). They are always first, and as the day progresses the grade of the cheerleader goes up and the age of the football player goes up with 8th grades finishing out the day between 5-7:30pm.  We not only cheer at our home park at Peachtree Ridge Park, but we will be traveling throughout the county.

  • Can my daughter cheer  for her brothers team or with her friend on a different squad?

A cheerleader may only cheer for her grade level in which she is enrolled in the fall. The only time this may differ is when the corresponding football team does not have enough participants and has to play up an age group. That will then require cheer to combine cheer squads. Cheerleaders are not allowed to cheer up or down a grade based on parent/cheerleader preference.

  • Is it true 1st - 3rd grade does not have purchase cheer shoes from uniform vendor?

That is correct, if your cheerleader is in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd grade you DO NOT have to purchase the Rebel Cheer Shoe. However, your cheerleader will still be required to wear an ALL WHITE athletic shoe including the sole of the shoe. NO COLORS ALLOWED!
